Service Standards

What we focus on during each clean

The aim is not just to clean the glass once, but to maintain the exterior appearance of the property over time.

Glass

External glass is cleaned to remove general dirt, rain marks, traffic film and everyday buildup.

Frames

Frames are included where safely accessible, helping prevent the edges of windows from looking neglected.

Sills

Sills are cleaned as part of the regular service because they often collect visible dirt and residue.

Access

Rear gates, locked areas, pets and access restrictions are discussed before regular 6-weekly visits are arranged.

Pure Water Cleaning

What is pure water cleaning?

Pure-water window cleaning uses filtered water and professional water-fed pole equipment to clean exterior glass, frames and sills without detergent on regular maintenance visits.

Filtered water

The water is filtered to remove minerals that can leave marks as ordinary tap water dries.

No detergent normally required

For regular exterior cleaning, purified water lifts dirt without soap. That avoids detergent residue being left on the glass.

Natural drying

Windows are brushed and rinsed thoroughly, then left to dry naturally because the purified water is designed to dry clear.

Ground-based reach

Upper windows can usually be cleaned from the ground, making routine exterior cleaning safer and more practical where access allows.

First Clean or One-Off Service

More time for a thorough initial service

A first clean or one-off service may take longer than a regular 6-weekly visit. Older dirt, previous detergent residue and buildup around vents, seals, frames and sills can continue to wash out during or shortly after cleaning.

Occasional spotting can happen after an initial service, especially on properties that have not been cleaned recently. This is not unusual and does not mean the pure-water method is unsuitable.

  • First cleans and one-off services may take longer
  • Dirt can be trapped around vents, seals and frame edges
  • Old residue can continue to wash out after the initial service
  • Repeat 6-weekly cleans usually improve the finish

Maintenance

Why results often improve over time

Regular 6-weekly maintenance reduces buildup before it becomes heavy. Frames become cleaner, seals release less dirt, and repeat visits usually produce a more consistent finish.

When windows are left for long periods, the job often becomes more like a restoration clean. Staying on a regular round keeps the work more predictable and helps the property stay consistently presentable.

  • Less visible buildup between cleans
  • Cleaner-looking frames and sills
  • Better kerb appeal for homes and businesses
  • More predictable scheduling
  • Easier long-term property maintenance

FAQ

Exterior window cleaning questions

Practical details that help set expectations before joining a regular round.

Do you clean in the rain?

Light rain normally does not affect pure-water window cleaning. Safety comes first, so heavy rain, strong wind, ice, lightning or unsafe conditions may mean the visit is rearranged.

What if access is blocked?

Rear access may be required for some properties. Please keep gates unlocked, secure pets and let CleanForge know about access issues in advance. If access is blocked, some windows may not be cleaned or the visit may need to be rearranged.

How does payment work?

Payment is due after each completed clean. We prefer payment by bank transfer, although cash is also accepted. Even on a regular 6-weekly schedule, you pay for each visit separately.

Why only every 6 weeks?

A 6-weekly schedule balances appearance, value, route efficiency and predictable scheduling for local rounds.

Are frames and sills included?

Yes. We clean exterior glass, frames and sills wherever they can be safely accessed as part of the service.

What if the paint on the frames is already flaking?

We always take great care when cleaning your windows. If paint is loose, peeling or flaking, we may be unable to clean the affected frames or sills. Loose paint can contaminate our cleaning brushes and affect cleaning quality. Where this happens, we'll explain the situation and discuss the best option before proceeding.

Can cleaning cause water to enter the property?

Under normal circumstances, no. However, if a window, door, vent or seal is already damaged, poorly fitted or no longer weatherproof, water may enter during cleaning. If we notice an obvious issue before starting, we'll let you know where practical.

Do you clean inside windows?

No. CleanForge specialises in exterior window cleaning using a pure-water system. By focusing exclusively on exterior cleaning, we provide a safer, faster and more consistent service.
